FOP Researchers are tantalisingly close to major breakthroughs in treatment and even a possible cure. If you donate to FOP Friends you are the difference between research continuing and it stopping completely.
But research requires financial support
Research into FOP in the UK receives no NHS or government funding. The FOP research team at the University of Oxford, led by Professor Alex Bullock, is funded solely by FOP Friends. Without funding from FOP Friends, the research team would not be able to continue in its current form.
Research into rare disease such as FOP helps scientists understand more common medical conditions, which could in turn advance the treatment for other diseases. Your support for FOP Friends could further understanding of osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, joint replacements, heart disease, heterotopic ossification following military injuries or surgery, chronic anaemia, sporting injuries, and burns.
The team at Oxford are also working with cancer researchers into the connection between FOP and the childhood brain cancer DIPG.
We need to keep funding the research and everyone can help!
FOP Friends is a small charity. All the projects we carry out are grant-funded with a massive 96% of fundraised money going directly to supporting the research and projects which we hope will find us that treatment and cure for FOP.
Without the support of generous people, we will not be able to continue our work. Your donation is the difference between research continuing and it stopping completely.
All donations to FOP Friends are gratefully received, there is no donation too small.
We use Enthuse as our preferred fundraising platform.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please GiftAid your donation. This allows us to claim an extra 25% from the government on your donation, at no extra cost to you.
You can also set-up monthly donations of any size. For large donations or other ways to donate to FOP Friends, please visit our Donate page or contact us. To become a regular donor, contact us or visit our Regular Donor page.
From all our families who are affected by FOP, we thank you.
